Atalaya Model at Vista Serena

At Homewise, we’re inspired by our long-time partner, NeighborWorks America. For more than 40 years, NeighborWorks has provided support to local nonprofit organizations to help provide access to sustainable homeownership.

The NeighborWorks philosophy of strengthening communities helped inform Homewise in creating Vista Serena as a place where all its residents can pursue their dreams.

We know that homeownership is a goal that, to many Santa Fe residents, seems out of reach. But, at Homewise, we specialize in helping homebuyers attain what often can feel unattainable – buying a home that they can afford.

Santa Fe’s zip code of 87506 is the most expensive zip code in New Mexico. In fact, the Santa Fe Association of Realtors recently released a report that the median single-family home price is $458,941 in the city and county. With a median home price of $337,000 and prices starting at $289,000 for a new, single-family home within the city of Santa Fe, Vista Serena homes are well below the median home price for Santa Fe where many buyers tell us they never thought they could afford to buy their own homes.

Homewise’s philosophies of affordability and sustainability are infused in the features of the homes themselves. All home designs have received a silver HERS rating and use cellulose insulation and use solar tubes to distribute sunlight through the house during the day, reducing the need for indoor lighting. All homes can support solar panels and include fixtures that allow for efficient reduced water flow.

The mountain views and open spaces of Vista Serena, along with access to parks and trails give residents something that is all too often lacking – a connection with the outdoors. And, the Southside Public Library, Nina Otero Community School and Capital High School districts are just minutes away, because convenient access is something that all neighborhoods deserve.
