Santa Fe Affordable Housing and Livable Neighborhoods Advisory Group Releases Key Recommendations at City Council Meeting

The Santa Fe Advancing Affordable Housing and Livable Neighborhoods Advisory Group, one of the eight groups assembled by Mayor Alan Webber as part of his mayoral transition, will release its final recommendations at the November 14th Santa Fe City Council Meeting.

The Advisory Group, co-chaired by Homewise CEO Mike Loftin and The Life Link Executive Director Carol Luna-Anderson, includes more than 20 Santa Fe business, community, financial, philanthropic and non-profit leaders.

Throughout a rigorous six-month consensus process, the group examined Santa Fe’s housing challenges including

  • Homelessness
  • Affordability and availability of rental housing
  • Accessibility and affordability of home ownership
  • Neighborhood support

The group identified a variety of short-term and long-term strategies to address each challenge and will present its work to the Santa Fe City Council on November 14th.

“The work of this Advisory Group shows what can happen when dedicated Santa Feans come  together to address a shared challenge,” said Mike Loftin, CEO of Homewise and Advisory Group Co-Chair. “The recommendations of the group are tangible, actionable and most of all, transformational. I hope and believe that, if these recommendations are implemented, Santa Fe will be on its way to addressing one of its most vexing issues: housing affordability.”

The Advisory Group hopes to support the City of Santa in its Affordable Housing and Livable Neighborhood Efforts long after the City Council Meeting.

“This Advisory Group is ready and willing to support Mayor Webber and the City Council as we work together to make Santa Fe better,” said Carol Luna-Anderson, Executive Director of Life Link and Advisory Group Co-Chair.
