The public use trail system in the northwest hills of Santa Fe will be expanded by an additional five miles through the new Homewise Homes community at Tessera. The newly expanded trail system winds throughout the Tessera neighborhood, and is easily accessible from Highway 599 and the neighboring Aldea and La Tierra communities. The trail system will be available for use by residents of Tessera and the surrounding neighborhoods, and open to the public for hiking, biking and equestrian activity.
To ready the trail system for use, Homewise Homes partnered with Listening Horse Therapeutic Riding, a local organization providing recreational therapy with horses for people facing a variety of physical, mental and emotional challenges. On July 21, volunteer riders and horses rode the trail system to beat down the paths, conditioning them to be accessible and ready for community use.
